Food Transfer Tunnels – Ultraviolet Disinfection
Daro ultraviolet food transfer tunnels inactive 99.99% of surface microorganisms including bacteria, viruses, mould spores, algae and yeast without the use of heat or chemicals in a stable UVC and dry environment.
UV treatment is a fast, chemical-free, cost-effective and environmentally friendly way to disinfect surfaces from harmful bacteria, viruses, mould spores, algae and yeast; making surfaces safe.
Food transfer tunnels are ideal for disinfecting food packaging and food items during the food manufacturing process. Inactivating microorganisms results in higher quality standards and helps food manufactures and food processors achieve product extended shelf-life.
As demand for ever higher quality standards increases, integrating ultraviolet technologies enables food producing and packaging sectors to realise even higher standards and reduced dependence on chemical processes and the costs associated with them.
UV food transfer tunnels allows a broad range of food manufacturers from bakeries to meat processors to give achieve high levels of disinfection and control of cross contamination.
- Disinfection of products being transferred into high care
- Treatment of products prior to packaging to extend shelf life
- Disinfection of utensils for food handling and packaging materials
A meat processor in the UK wanted to eliminate the risk of transferring bacteria into their high care area when transferring products and equipment. They considered ozone and chemical treatments, however, cost and safety issues led them to choose the low cost and environmentally friendly alternative of ultraviolet disinfection. Daro UV designed and built the tunnels to the meat processor’s specifications to provide the optimal solution that ensures products are free from contamination.
