UV Meter & Monitor

Unlike their medium & high-pressure lamp counterparts, low-pressure UV germicidal lamps undergo a predictable, slow reduction in ultraviolet output. The risk for premature lamp failure is extremely low and usually a planned maintenance schedule is sufficient to retain performance levels. In some applications additional monitoring system may be needed though to guarantee an extra safe and correct operation of the plant. Critical applications where meters and monitor instruments are suitable are:

  • Municipal water supplies
  • Municipal secondary effluent treatment
  • Pharmaceutical processes – require logged data, which can record UV dose applied at any moment in time over a 12-month period.
DaRo UV Systems provide Lamp Failure Monitors, simply checking that each lamp is electrically functioning. Alarms and/or telemetry signals may be fitted with the monitor. A more advanced monitoring system is the UV Intensity Monitor, which will ensure the detection of deteriorating sterilising effect of the lamps. UVM is optimised to measure the germicidal wavelength 254 nm without interference from non-germicidal wavelengths and therefore provides an accurate measurement of UV intensity relative to a pre-defined position in the steriliser.

Our UV monitors have stable, calibrated UV sensors; all can be certified and have been developed into an extremely precise instrument, which measures the radiation intensity. Disinfection performance is thus permanently under control.
