DaRo UV Systems manufacture an extra-safe range of double-sealed germicidal ultraviolet lamps for the food industry. UV lamps are made of special UV transmissive glass and back filled with mercury vapor.

In food applications the lamp has to be installed in close proximity to the product and our Sealed Lamps prevent the risk of product contamination with glass or lamp contents in the event of accidental damage.

In addition all our lamps run at low temperatures, avoiding the high temperature dangers presented by out-dated medium pressure systems. An operating life of over a year continuous operation and very high reliability make these the lamps of choice. The lamps are sleeved within a strong, semi-rigid UV transparent sheath with waterproof end plugs. In the event of an impact breaking the inner lamp, the unbreakable outer sleeve retains all shards of glass within its sealed environment. The unit has been tested to IP67 water ingress and is therefore fully submersible. The lamp can be used for air disinfection in ducts and general airspaces or for localised UV surface disinfection of food products or their packaging.

Typical users are major dairies, bakeries and supermarkets where the lamp is mounted on existing conveyor systems for disinfection
