Typical Applications for Air Disinfection

UV air disinfection is a very effective and economical way of achieving a clean air supply. It may be applied as Re-circulating-, Upper Air-, or Forced Air disinfection, depending on the specific circumstances and sterilisation requirements of our clients. Our engineers will outline an appropriate solution determined by operating practices and building features. Both static and moving air can be treated. For example the following problems have been solved;

Air disinfection
    • Hygienic food preparation area was plagued by mould on walls. The problem disappeared following fitting of a UV air disinfection package.
    • High velocity air ventilation duct – UV system provided safer, cleaner living environment for newly hatched chicks.
    • Cheese factory irradiation – The roof structure suffered from surface mould and needed permanent maintenance before installation of the UV system.
    • Instead of letting air borne micro-organisms become a source of biological contamination, consult us and we will supply systems with high disinfection capability particularly suited for hygiene conscious industries

Typical Applications for Surface Disinfection

UV surface disinfection is a practical treatment method for materials such as plastics, metal and glass as well as a broad range of food products. Some manufacturers poorly designed systems increase hazard levels in the food manufacturing environment. DaRo UV Systems plc has designed a uniquely food-safe solution for;

    • Dairy product packaging
    • Bread products
    • Fresh and Dried Herbs
    • Soft Fruits
    • Meat packaging
    • Face masks
    • Knives
    • Laboratory Surfaces
    • Medical Packaging
    • DNA Culture Test Tubes etc.
 Surface disinfection
UV treatment offers major advantages over thermal or chemical methods, which may be incompatible with either the product or its packaging. It also disinfects water products for use in soft drinks, beer and concentrates effectively, as well as liquid sweeteners.

Short wave UV light (UVC) penetrates the cell structure of the micro-organism and destroys the DNA structure thus preventing it from replicating. Due to UVC light’s rapid action it can be used on moving as well as static surfaces. The lamps enable either longitudinal or transverse mounting across conveyor belts and other handling systems. UV is an effective and secure way of disinfecting surfaces and the system is easy to operate and maintain, which brings down total running costs. UV treatment does not damage or modify the physical characteristics of your product nor does it change the taste or generate byproducts. UV simply makes the product better by assuring a bacteria free environment and hence improving quality.
